Check Your Eligibility Conditions For B.A./B.Com Classes
Eligibility
First Year
- A pass in the Senior Secondary (+2) Examination (Academic Stream) conducted by H.P. Board of School Education or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the various bodies of the H.P. U.
- Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with science stream shall be given preference in admission to B.Sc. programme.
- Provided that the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with commerce stream shall be given preference in admission to B.Com. programme.
- Provided that the candidates who have passed qualifying examination with arts stream/humanities shall be given preference in admission to BA programme.
- Provided that the candidates who have passed qualifying examination with arts stream/humanities shall be given preference in admission to BA programme.
- The Candidate in 1st Year of UG Course will be admitted on the merit basis (percentage of marks/grade obtained in 10+2 examination).
- The student with compartment case is not eligible for admission.
Second Year/ Third Year

Age Limit
The maximum age limit for admission to B.A./B.Sc./B.Com courses is 23 for male candidates who belong to the general category and 25 years for girls as of 1st July 2024. A relaxation of 3 years is applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ ST category. The Vice-Chancellor may permit age relaxation up to a maximum of 6 months.
NOTE:
- A Candidate furnishing any wrong information will be punished with cancellation of admission/registration. Suitable disciplinary and legal action will be taken. Dues paid will be forfeited.
- All admissions are provisional till these are confirmed/approved by HPU and the college will assume no responsibility for non-approval of a particular case. For any reason, including equivalence cases.
- In the absence of an actual marks sheet from Univ./Board in respect of +2 of the equivalent exam where the result is shown in grades/standards the minimum percentage of marks for each subject given in standard will be taken into consideration for determining eligibility.
- The admission schedule notified by the university will be strictly adhered to. No relaxation will be given in this regard.
- The decision of the Principal will be final in the matter of admission and he has the power to refuse or terminate any admission without assigning any reason or also on disciplinary grounds.
Documents Required At The Time Of Admission
- Matriculation certificate for Date of Birth.
- 10+2 marks sheet.
- H.P. Domicile certificate for girl students (for exemption in tuition fee).
- Minimum 40% disability certificate, sports/cultural quota and category certificate in case of students seeking admission against these seats.
- Original character certificate from Head of the Institution last attended. In the case of private candidates, the character certificate must have been issued by a Gazetted officer/ Panchayat Pradhan/ Ward Counsellor but not older than 6 months from the day of submission of admission form.
- A student seeking admission from Board/University other than H.P. will have to upload a copy of the migration certificate and the original certificate has to be submitted at the time of counselling.
- Affidavits should be provided wherever applicable.
- Certificate of SC/ ST from Magistrate Class-1 (Authorized Signatory) should be provided by those seeking relaxation in age/ marks.
- Any gap (latest) in the academic career of the applicant must be supported by documentary evidence/ affidavit as proof of his/ her activities during the period of gap if it is more than one year.
